2014 Rosato Alegría Vineyards
The lovely red coral hue and tempting aromas of fresh red berries, melon, and tropical fruit invite you to sip. This delicious rosé’s round creamy mouthfeel holds rich flavors of fresh-picked wild strawberry, ripe cherry, juicy watermelon, and tropical fruit.
This bright, balanced, field-blend has more depth and complexity than a single-varietal rosés.
Our 2014 Rosato is a dry, flavorful co-fermented field blend of five of the grape varieties we grow in our Alegría Vineyards. This vibrant coral-red rosé reminds us of sunsets enjoyed from the winery patio. Dry winter weather caused the grapes bud out early, and 2014 was our earliest harvest in 25 years.
We crushed a different mixes of grapes, specifically for Rosato, on three separate days. Each of the lots absorbed skin color for less than 24 hours before we drained the juice off and lightly pressed the remaining must. Native and cultured yeasts fermented the juice to dryness in stainless steel barrels. We blended the lots and aged the wine in neutral oak barrels for four months before bottling.
