This harmonious Medley displays aromas of ripe berry, spices, and toasty oak. The unique varietal blend creates a delicious range of flavors, from blackberry, plum, and spicy cherry to chocolate truffles and coffee with cream. A luscious, full mouthfeel continues through to the lengthy finish filled with jammy berry and cocoa flavors.
Like a musical medley (an arrangement of interwoven melodies), our Medley is a unique vineyard composition. For each vintage, we work with our consulting winemaker Alison Green Doran to create a special wine that represents the essence of Alegría Vineyards. The wine is a blend of field blends since each barrel we select for Medley already contains a blend of grapes. Our goal is to create a blend that reflects our terroir, diverse grape varieties, historic plantings, and the unique character of each growing season.
For 2004, Medley contains more than 15 grape varieties that were hand-harvested on seven different days over a 25-day period. They were fermented in nine different lots, each one a field blend.
