Acorns and Oaks -- both part of a family-farming tradition

Mighty oaks grow from tiny acorns. Or did the acorn come first?

Bill and Betsy Nachbaur founded ACORN winery in 1990, and Melissa Moholt-Siebert (founder and owner of Ancient Oak winery) bought the ACORN brand from them in 2024.

Melissa is honored to be able to continue to develop Bill and Betsy's legacy of field-blend winemaking, using the family-farmed grapes from Bill and Betsy's Alegría vineyard as well as several other family-farmed, field-blend vineyards in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County.

Each ACORN wine is a field blend, from the ancient tradition of mixed planting and co-fermenting multiple varieties. The wines are "blended" from the day they're picked.
